Trade In End-User FAQ

Frequently Asked Question (End-User)

1. Is My Inverter eligible for Trade-in?

You can figure this out at: https://service.sungrowpower.com.au/Trade_in_Eligibility_Check

2.  How can I start the Trade-In and Upgrade process?

Contact your original Installer or an accredited Solar Company for a Sungrow Hybrid Inverter and Battery(SBR096/SBH200 minimum) upgrade quotation. The trade-in value may be applied as a deduction for the new purchase.

3. Who will organize the trade-in application?

The Solar Company/Installer will manage the trade-in on your behalf. As the manufacturer, Sungrow will liaise directly with them or their supplier.

4. How the trade-in application will be accepted?

Sungrow will accept applications where a genuine upgrade has occurred at the same location and all criteria are met. However, Sungrow reserves the right to reject claims if:

  • Eligibility criteria are not met
  • Required photo/documentation is missing or invalid
  • Inverter is not returned, or condition does not meet minimum return requirements

5. How many Sungrow inverters I can trade-in?
Only one trade-in inverter is accepted per site. If the site has multiple inverters, the unit with the higher trade-in value may be selected for redemption.

6. What about the Warranty?
New installed inverter and battery system are covered under Sungrow Standard Product Warranties.
Sungrow does not sell products directly to end-users, so does not warrant the workmanship or installation quality.
All installation-related responsibilities lie with your solar company, any issues related to installation, workmanship, or system performance shall be resolved directly with the  solar company. Sungrow will provide necessary support to solar company as needed.

7. What about Data Liability?
Sungrow is not liable for any data (e.g., production logs, user configurations, network settings) stored on returned inverters. It is the solar installer's or system owner’s responsibility to erase and/or back up such data prior to return. Sungrow may permanently delete or destroy any residual data upon receipt.

8. How the old Inverter will be handled?
Once collected, the traded-in inverter becomes the property of Sungrow or its authorised recycling partners and will not be returned. All environmental disposal is handled responsibly through authorised channels.
