How Sungrow Trade-In Program Works
The Sungrow Inverter Trade-In Program allows Sungrow inverter user to exchange eligible existing inverters for credit toward the purchase of a new Sungrow hybrid inverter and battery system. Please refer to the quick guide below for an overview of the roles and procedures for each party involved. (Subject to change before the launch)
Step-by-Step Overview and Roles
1. End-User
Responsibility:
Owns the existing inverter and initiates the upgrade through an SAA-Accredited Installer.
Procedure:
1. Contacts an Accredited Installer for a quote and installation.
2. Provides written authorization for the installer to apply for the trade-in.
3. Assists with the return of the old inverter if required.
4. Understands that the trade-in value is settled through the installer, not Sungrow directly.
2. Accredited Solar Installation Company
Responsibility:
Install the new system for the End-User, coordinator between Reseller (if applicable), and Distributor.
Procedure:
1. Verifies the existing inverter is eligible. Reach an agreement with the end-user.
2. Submits the trade-in application or may delegates this to a Reseller if applicable.
3. Installs the new hybrid inverter and battery system for the end-user.
4. Ensures the trade-in inverter is returned to Sungrow.
5. Re-submits post-installation documentation and invoice for voucher activation.
6. Settle the voucher credit directly with the nominated Distributor upon the form submission or via the Reseller if agreed.
3. Solar Reseller(if involved)
Responsibility:
Supplies the Sungrow Products on a small scale, may act as the trade-in case applicant on behalf of the Accredited Solar Installer
Procedure:
1. Submits the trade-in application form with all required documents, as delegated by the Solar Installer.
2. Uploads a job-specific invoice and release the stocks to the solar installer.
3. Collect and return the trade-in inverter after the solar installer finished the new system upgrade.
4. Re-submits post-installation documentation and invoice for voucher activation.
5. Receives the credit note (as direct case applicant) from the nominated distributor and settles the trade-in value with the installers.
4. Registered Solar Distributor
Responsibility:
Supplies the Sungrow Products on a large scale and handles the voucher redemption.
Procedure:
1. Must be registered in the Sungrow trade-in program portal.
2. Validates Voucher Codes tied to specific trade-in cases.
3. Receive the Credit Notes from Sungrow.
4. Applies the trade-in credit on invoices and settles payments with the Installer/Reseller at own arrangement .
5. Cannot combine this program with any other Sungrow promotion.
5. Sungrow
Responsibility:
Oversees and approves the entire trade-in process.
Procedure:
1. Verifies trade-in eligibility and submitted documentation.
2. Issues pre-approved Voucher Codes.
3. Activates Voucher Codes once all post-installation requirements are fulfilled.
4. Issues credit notes to the Registered Distributor Only .
5. May revoke incomplete or overdue trade-in cases.
✅ Key Requirements
♦ The system upgrade must include a Sungrow Hybrid inverter plus at least an SBR096/SBH200 Battery.
♦ Only one trade-in inverter is accepted per site.
♦ Trade-in inverters must be returned and in relative good condition.
♦ The Voucher Code is redeemable only after the new system is installed and approved by Sungrow
♦ Voucher codes may be applied to invoices for specific trade-in cases or bulk purchases. Bulk purchases must include only Sungrow batteries and cannot be combined with other promotional offers.
